100 books restricted in Punjab for disrespectful, hostile to Pakistan content
LAHORE : Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) Managing Director Rai Manzoor Hussain Nasir on Thursday restricted 100 books being instructed in non-public schools for conveying ungodly and hostile to Pakistan content.
Tending to a question and answer session, Rai Manzoor Hussain Nasir said that the PCTB had begun basic audit of 10,000 books being instructed by tuition based schools over the area and in the principal stage had prohibited 100 books of 31 distributers including Oxford and Cambridge for disrespectful, indecent and hostile to Pakistan content.
The PCTB MD said that the board had shaped 30 councils for this reason. He said it was dismal that no one checked these books before and had no clue about what was being instructed to our children in tuition based schools against powerful charges. He said the restricted books had mutilated realities about Pakistan and its creation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal while these books likewise conveyed disrespectful substance. He said Pakistan was depicted as a sub-par nation to India while Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) was additionally appeared as a component of India in maps in a portion of these books.
